Grand Theft Auto fans are growing concerned that the Xbox Series S could hold back GTA VI with the game perhaps demanding too much of the console.
We’re over halfway through October and we’re still without a GTA VI reveal. In case you’ve missed the latest happenings, so-called insiders are convinced that the game will get a full reveal this month. One even went as far as declaring that Rockstar would make the announcement on 26 October, while others gave vague promises of “soon”. It awaits to be seen if there’s any truth in these whisperings. Rockstar did add fuel to the fire when they posted an image of the Vinewood sign with only the V and I prominently showing. Of course, when GTA VI is finally revealed, we’ll be here to deliver all the official news but in the meantime, fans are passing the time by debating whether the Xbox Series S could hold the game back.
Take a look at this incredible Vice City remaster mod below.
Reddit user Switch_Cover wrote, “Do you think the Xbox Series S will hold back GTA 6 in any way? I don't mean to throw any shade or start some s****y console war, but the Series S is clearly more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One but not as powerful as the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Just wanted to know what everyone's thoughts [are] on this.”

It’s no secret that the Xbox Series S is a far less powerful console, and yet Microsoft has a parity clause ensuring that games offer the same features on both Series S and Series X. Baldur’s Gate 3 is the first game to be permitted to break that agreement, dropping the splitscreen co-op from the Series S version of the game. Could we see GTA VI make certain adjustments if the game is as big as dataminers claim?
