As soon as GTA VI drops, GTA VII will be the next big thing, and I don’t know how to feel about that.
We’ve been waiting long enough for GTA VI as is, with GTA V first launching all the way back in 2013 but to be fair, we did get Red Dead Redemption 2 in-between.
The wait is almost over though, as GTA VI will drop later this year.
Bizarrely though, there are those out there who are already thinking about what’s beyond GTA VI, specifically with regards to the seventh mainline game in the series.

There have been several Reddit threads published on the topic, mainly talking about how long we might have to wait given how long it’s taken to get GTA VI.
While it’s best not to dwell too heavily on it for the time being, I do think it’s interesting to think about what could come after the next game, and not just in terms of sequels.
Sure GTA VII will happen eventually, but there’s always a chance we’ll get Red Dead Redemption 3, or an entirely new series.
Remakes/remasters are also on the table, as while Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was a colossal failure, it does likely mean the next blast from the past will be better.

A remaster of GTA IV would be fantastic, for example, and would make more sense than DLC or expansion for GTA: Online like many have asked for.
Even a full-on remake of the first two Grand Theft Auto games but in 3D would be cool to see, and probably a better option rather than jumping straight into another sequel.
For those already thinking about GTA VII, that’s great, get hyped, but consider what else Rockstar Games could do after GTA VI drops, as that’s where the fun begins.
