One industry analyst believes that a Collector’s Edition of Rockstar Games’ upcoming title Grand Theft Auto VI could set you back $250, whenever the game actually releases that is.
This info comes from Industry Analyst’s Anurag Reddy, who is basing it on a report from the market research firm DFC Intelligence.
“This grassroots fervour translates to pre-order pledges: DFC predicts 10-15 million units at $70-$150 each could hit $1 billion,” writes Reddy.

“Collector’s editions, rumoured at $250 with extras like artbooks or in-game perks, target diehards willing to splurge.”
Now I should state for clarity’s sake that no “Collector’s Edition” of Grand Theft Auto VI has officially been announced by either Rockstar Games or Take-Two.
There have been rumours regarding one, but nothing substantial. So for now, we’re only talking in hypotheticals.
However, I’d be surprised if there wasn’t one. Grand Theft Auto V had one and Red Dead Redemption 2 had one, and let’s be real; people will buy one for GTA VI.

I think the more interesting thing to theorise is the cost. Analytics Insight is assuming it would be $250, and that might not be far off (depending on its contents).
The Collector’s Edition of Grand Theft Auto V retailed at $149.99, and it’s heavily assumed that Grand Theft Auto VI’s standard edition will retail at a premium anyway. I think $200 is a bit more feasible, but it really is just a guessing game at this point.
Still, gotta wonder what they’d even put in a Collector’s Edition of GTA VI. Some exclusive DLC stuff would be a sure bet, including some GTA Online 2-related goodies.
Maybe they’d chuck in a t-shirt and a map or some other tat like that, too.

Either way, I bet it’ll sell for like five times the price on eBay a few months after it sells out.
