In a game where driving over pedestrians is just a part of daily life, you would expect Grand Theft Auto 6 to qualify for the highest age rating possible. However, a recent certificate that has appeared online tells a very different story.
With rumours circulating on a daily basis for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, it’s hard to believe what is real and what is a load of nonsense. However, the latest leak comes courtesy of the official Australian Age Rating Board website so this one is pretty difficult to debunk.
Take a look at what we know about GTA 6 so far below!
The age rating of a game being announced is usually a sign of an imminent release and with rumours of a Rockstar announcement taking place on 26 October, a miracle could actually happen. For now, we will have to make-do with an age rating and with the majority of fans revealing that they played Grand Theft Auto V when they were underage, the news doesn’t really make much of a difference anyway.

However, in a bizarre turn of events, the Australian Age Rating Board has revealed that Grand Theft Auto VI will seemingly have a 15+ age rating. This is a shock considering previous titles in the Grand Theft Auto series have held an 18+ rating for obvious reasons. With the games featuring ‘Strong Sex Scenes’ and ‘Strong Drug Use’, it just doesn’t make sense that it would have dropped to 15+ unless the upcoming instalment has had a complete overhaul. It is even more confusing considering Australia regularly bans games featuring drug use, sex and excessive violence.
It remains to be seen if this age rating will be altered with the announcement of GTA 6 but until then, it has left a lot of fans speculating. In related news, fans are also wondering how much the Rockstar title will cost when it finally releases. With the average AAA release costing more and more each year, we could see GTA 6 be the most expensive yet.
