GTA VI is creeping towards us, with a 2025 release window looking more likely than ever. However, before that can happen, it's looking like we're getting at least one more major update for GTA V.
GTA V and its multiplayer component GTA Online have refused to die over the last decade. GTA Online, especially, has been the recipient of frequent updates designed to keep us busy while we wait for GTA VI. Of course, as popular and fun as GTA Online is, there's no substitute for a single-player focused Rockstar Games experience.
Alas, a single-player focused Rockstar Games experience is something we'll have to wait just a little bit longer for. GTA VI continues to elude us, and the next major update coming to GTA V appears to be more exclusively tailored to the Online side of things.

In a recent announcement letting players know what's coming to the GTA+ subscription service, Rockstar made specific reference to "this summer’s big GTA Online update." Exactly what's in it remains to be seen, but it's nice to know for sure it's on the way. Rockstar also confirmed it's bringing Bully and LA Noire to GTA+ this year.
“We recently added Red Dead Redemption — with access to Undead Nightmare — to the stellar Games Included With GTA+ library, and Members can look forward to more Rockstar classics becoming available later this year, including LA Noire and Bully,” Rockstar said.
One more major update for GTA Online after all this time could be incredibly exciting, especially when you consider it could end up being the final major update for the game. Previous updates have brought back fan-favourite characters, and even added new locations to explore. Could the GTA Online summer update deliver something similar? I'd bet yes.
One thing I do know is that when the GTA Online summer update hits, we're facing weeks - if not months - of gamers convinced they've found new GTA VI teasers hidden within it.
