PlayStation is looking to work with Amazon to create a God Of War TV adaptation. According to a new report, Prime Video is in negotiations to develop a live-action series based around the adventures of Kratos.
Deadline claims to have heard from its sources that the plan is for the God Of War TV series to be developed The Expanse creators Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby andThe Wheel of Time executive showrunner Rafe Judkins alongside Sony Pictures Television. PlayStation Productions, the dedicated TV and movie arm of PlayStation that was formed in 2019, will also produce.
Since the formation of PlayStation Studios, the number of TV films and movies based on PlayStation properties has shot up considerably. Tom Holland's Uncharted movie finally released just last month, but it's only the first of many to come.
Advert
HBO is working alongside Naughty Dog on an adaptation of The Last Of Us, a Twisted Metal TV series is on the way, and a Ghost Of Tsushima movie was confirmed last year.
This wouldn't be Amazon Studio's first video game project, either. The studio is currently casting for its Fallout TV series, and a Mass Effect show was also recently confirmed. Video game adaptations have always gotten a bad rap, but the sheer volume of live-action projects coming our way in the next few years would suggest that surely at least a few of them will be worth our time... right?
I guess we'll have to watch and see.
