With the long-awaited release of God Of War Ragnarök right around the corner, you might well be wondering exactly how much time you'll be spending with Kratos and Atreus this time around.
According to a new report, it sounds like the upcoming PlayStation-exclusive adventure is going be around the same as 2018's God Of War. Whether or not that is a good thing depends entirely on your perspective/how many kids and real-life responsibilities you have, I guess.
Writing for Insider Gaming, noted industry leaker Tom Henderson claims to have heard that God Of War Ragnarök is roughly 40 hours long, with 20 hours needed to complete the main story. That means there's around twice as much content in there for completionists, which sounds pretty wonderful.

Breaking it down further, Henderson has heard that roughly three and a half hours of the 20 main story hours will be comprised of cutscenes, leaving 16 and a half hours of gameplay. The 20 hours needed to mop up side quests will reportedly consist of one hour of cinematics and 19 of gameplay.
It's worth noting, of course, that these are merely estimates. Some of you might get through the game's story in 15 hours, while others may take a more leisurely pace and see the credits after closer to 50 hours.
This approximation makes sense, at least. According to the always reliable Howlongtobeat.com, the 2018 God Of War takes 20 hours on average to beat, and over double that if you insist on getting that 100%.
After all, there's nothing worse than a sequel that is way, way longer than it needs to be, right? Looking at you, The Last Of Us Part II.
