God Of War fans rejoice, Kratos officially returns next month

Better start clearing space on those SSDs now, because this is one chunky boy

Sony’s bearded behemoth Kratos is officially back next month as God of War Ragnarök makes its way to PCs on September 19th.

To celebrate, developer Santa Monica Studio has decided to reveal the system requirements for the game… assumedly so you’ve got plenty of time to clear the colossal amount of space required to install it.

Let’s get the good news out of the way first. In the recent blog post on the PlayStation site from Santa Monica Studio’s Lead Community Manager Grace Orlady, the developer specified that the PC release of God of War Ragnarök will work with any and all graphics cards.

“We’re also happy to confirm that God of War Ragnarök on PC supports all major graphics card manufacturer technologies,” according to Grace, “including… Nvidia DLSS 3.7… AMD FSR 3.1” and “Intel XeSS 1.3”.

In terms of minimum specs, you’re gonna need something equivalent to an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or an AMD RX 5500 XT GPU, an Intel i5-4670k or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 CPU, and 8 GB of RAM.

To run everything on Ultra… well, you’re going to need a beefy machine to get the most out of God of War Ragnarök.

You’ll need something akin to an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti or AMD RX 7900 XT GPU, an Intel i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, and 16 GB of RAM.

Oh, and, you’re also going to need 190 GB of space free on your SSD. Better start deciding which games to delete now. Hope you finally got around to finishing Elden Ring.

Santa Monica Studio did also announce that there’s a special bonus for those looking to pre-order the game on PC, in the form of an armour set for both Kratos and Atreus.

This is one of the same pre-order bonuses that came with the game when pre-ordering it on PS4 and PS5, so don’t worry PlayStation fans - you’re not missing out on anything unique by not replaying the title on PC.
