F1 22 is free to play from now until 24 October across PC, PlayStation and Xbox in order to coincide with the United States Grand Prix to be held this weekend.
EA Sports has also rolled out a video of Danny Ricciardo, driver for McLaren, walking potential new players through the game's recreation of Circuit of the Americas found in Austin, Texas. This comes at an awkward timing, though, as Ricciardo has announced that he will not be racing in 2023. His focus will stay on Formula One and, looking at the comments to this video, his fans are actually keen for him to lend his voice and expertise to the next entry in Codemasters' F1 series.

Codemasters itself was impressed with Ricciardo's gameplay, too. “During this free weekend trial, anyone can experience the thrill of Formula 1 for a limited time and we couldn’t have asked for a better coach to show us around the circuit,” said senior director of the F1 franchise Paul Jeal. All that's needed to slide into the simulated driver's seat is to go to the game's digital listing on your preferred platform and download the game at no cost.

And, there's a potential virtual meet and greet with Ricciardo on the cards for those who clock a quick lap on the Austin track in F1 22, if you share your time on social media with the hashtags #RicciardoChallenge and #F122gameSweepstakes. Best of luck to you all.
One final thing - it's worth mentioning that the Xbox free trial ends one day earlier than the rest on 23 October.
