The Epic Games Store’s latest line-up of free games has been announced - and it includes a majorly underrated platforming gem, released just last year in 2022.
In case you missed it, PC gamers can currently grab four free games from Steam too although I’ll warn you, it’s a pretty zany line-up. Admittedly, it’s not a great time for free games. The latest PlayStation Plus essential tier line-up has been branded as ‘trash’ by subscribers. Epic Games may have just redeemed the week though.
Speaking of PlayStation Plus, you should definitely check out the delightful Tchia.
As reported by VGC, the latest Epic Games Store free line-up includes Against All Odds, Kao the Kangaroo, and Horizon Chase Turbo. It’s Kao the Kangaroo that I’m really a fan of. If you enjoy Crash Bandicoot, you’ll love Kao. The game contains everything you could possibly want in a 3D platformer (even if it is a little on the short side).

In our review, we wrote, “Kao the Kangaroo may be too lacking in originality to stand the chance of being a game of the year contender, or even the best example of its genre this year, but it does excel in what it set out to achieve - to celebrate the golden age of the 3D platforming genre. Thanks to this reboot, Kao has every reason to proudly stand alongside Crash, Spyro and Mario as bastions of the genre.” Seriously, give it a try.
If platforming isn’t for you, Against All Odds is a Fall Guys-esque multiplayer party game from Microwave Games while Horizon Chase Turbo is an arcade racing game from AQUIRIS. All in all, it’s not a bad line-up. The freebies are available from 4 to 11 May, so do get downloading.
