The Elder Scrolls fans are seemingly set to be rewarded for their patience next month, but not with an update on The Elder Scrolls VI.
I’m afraid that particular game remains about as elusive as a unicorn.
The Elder Scrolls VI will surely surface within the next year or so given that not only was it revealed seven years ago, but we’re also now almost two years on from Starfield’s launch.

In the meantime though, it’s looking as if Bethesda is set to bring us a worthy distraction.
Remember that rumoured The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake? It has surfaced again.
The latest whisper claims that the remake will be, wait for it, unveiled next month. Mamma mia.
You can, if you want to, view The Elder Scrolls VI’s original reveal trailer below.
Leaker NateTheHate2 made the claim over on Twitter.

“As plans stand,” NateTheHate2 began, “Both the release and reveal are targeting next month (April). The gap between the reveal and release will be minimal - a shadow drop is possible.”
Fair to say, even if there’s not a shadow drop, I don’t think many of us would complain at the prospect of having to wait a month or two for the game’s release.
Of course, I have to urge you to take all rumours with a hefty pinch of salt.
That being said, NateTheHate2 does have a pretty good track record and he’s far from being the only person to mention the Oblivion remake.

When so many rumours surface about the same project, you do begin to think that there can't be smoke without fire.
Beyond that, there’s not a ton we know about the rumoured project.
It’s believed that the remake may have been made in Unreal Engine 5, but we really need Bethesda to lift the lid to be certain.
I’ll admit, it would be interesting if that was the case, as The Elder Scrolls VI is being made in Starfield’s Creation Engine 2.

Then again, Bethesda could have outsourced the development of the potential remake.
Well, with April almost upon us, we should find out the truth behind this rumour soon.
