The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is out! Woohoo!
Ok, bored now. When the hell is The Elder Scrolls VI coming out, Bethesda? It’s been 24 hours since you last released an Elder Scrolls title. Can you lock in and hurry up already?
Alright, obviously I’m just having a little giggle with ya, but there is (somehow) already a lot of negative sentiment online regarding Bethesda’s decision to spend time and resources remaking an older title instead of working on the next mainline entry in the series.

That’s probably why the big man himself, Todd Howard, made sure to update everyone on The Elder Scrolls VI during their latest reveal.
Right at the start of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered - Full Reveal livestream, Todd took a little minute to shout out TES VI and let us all know that, yes, they haven’t forgotten about it.
"When you think about The Elder Scrolls... to us, it goes beyond a game franchise,” Howard began.
“Obviously, we're working on the sixth chapter here... but what's great about The Elder Scrolls is being able to look back at all of the chapters. Skyrim, Oblivion, Daggerfall, Arena... each of them try to define roleplaying games and open world games for their generation.”

Look, it’s not exactly some kind of ground-breaking news. Even if they had a release date for it, they’re not gonna shoe-horn in some distractingly hype news about The Elder Scrolls VI while they’re trying to get you excited about the new Elder Scrolls game.
That being said, I do find Howard’s comments about how each Elder Scrolls game has defined RPGs for each generation.
Is that a subtle way of saying that TES VI will actually end up defining the next generation of hardware? Probably not, but it’s fun to give you guys a heart attack by making you think the next game won’t be out until 2030.
You keep plugging away until it’s perfect, Todd. Don’t you worry about us. Oblivion Remastered will keep us happy for a year or so. Then we’ll just play Skyblivion.
