It’s quite clear that this upcoming fantasy RPG is mining recent releases for inspiration with great results. Boasting a very unique visual style, plus a handful of gory elements, this could become a new favourite for many.
Voin is, on the surface, a mashup of several games. There’s a bit of Skyrim in there with the first-person fantasy combat; there are Elden Ring vibes coming from the world surrounding the player; and finally a smattering of DOOM in the brutal, demonic-looking enemies.
DOOM brought us chaotic and demonic action that provides inspiration for many developers.
From a quick glance at Voin’s Steam page, we can learn a lot about this upcoming game. It seems like Voin is going to be a tricky one to master and the developers are already challenging players to tackle the difficulty and come out on top by saying, “Do you think you have what it takes to beat the game without taking a single hit?”

It’s a hack and slash title with waves of grotesque enemies and a plethora of weapons for you to lay waste to them. “Venture into dangerous realms to acquire powerful new weaponry and equipment. Battle hordes of enemies, gather valuable loot, and retreat back to the Hub, where you can cleanse your collected items, enhance your skills, and then plunge back into the heat of battle!”
This is going to become the new obsession of many. It sounds like there’s a lot of replayability in the rinse and repeat of entering worlds, destroying creatures and leaving with bundles of loot. Perhaps the most unique aspect of Voin is the visual style which has some major lo-fi vibes with pixellated and staticky effects that seemingly adds to the chaos of the worlds we expect to be exploring.
