Despite releasing over 10 years ago and there being a sequel, developer Techland is still supporting the original Dying Light with free DLC.
Released in 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Dying Light is a different post-apocalyptic zombie survival horror than we’re used to. Think of it as a first-person, open-world Resident Evil with parkour elements of the underrated EA-published game Mirror's Edge.
Check out the Dying Light trailer below!
“Roam a city devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help defeat the hordes of flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created,” reads the synopsis of the game. “At night, beware the Infected as they grow in strength and even more lethal nocturnal predators leave their nests to feed on their prey.”

Dying Light benefited from a fantastic paid expansion with The Following in 2016 but more recently, we were treated to a free new-gen update on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. That’s not taking into account all the free content events and DLC over the last 10 years.
Now, Techland is at it again, this time to celebrate Dying Light’s 10th anniversary.
“The 10th Anniversary celebrations are underway! Starting today, you can enjoy a number of in-game events and special deals,” tweeted Techland. “So what are you waiting for? Don’t miss these four exciting weeks!”

Over the next four weeks, Dying Light players will be treated to a wealth of free content including special events that will reward us with exclusive DLC and bonuses.
During the first week of free Dying Light content, players can download the ‘10th Anniversary Bundle’ which includes the ‘Sunburst’ revolver, the ‘Dawnbreaker’ double-barrel shotgun, the ‘Golden Idle’ knife, an outfit, vehicle skin and more.
You only have until 10 February 2025 to claim the ‘10th Anniversary Bundle’, so act now to avoid the disappointment of missing out. It’s also worth keeping in mind that Dying Light 2: Stay Human is currently discounted by 67%.
At the time of writing, this DLC pack is only available on PC via Steam, Epic Games and GOG. However, when replying to a fan on Twitter, Techland confirmed that this DLC is coming to “consoles at a later date”.
