Ah, Dino Crisis, where is thou Dino Crisis? Capcom’s other iconic horror series has seemingly been long forgotten by the Japanese giant.
To be fair, Capcom has been asking fans in recent months what of its series’ they would like to see revived and along with the likes of Dead Rising and Onimusha, Dino Crisis was thrown into the mix. Whether we get a new Dino Crisis anytime soon, remains to be seen.
Check out the Dino Crisis 2 trailer below!
The first Dino Crisis was released in 1999 for the original PlayStation and was considered by many to be Resident Evil but with dinosaurs. It had everything that any survival horror fan would want, a story shrouded in conspiracy, interesting characters, challenging gameplay, well-thought-out puzzles and horror in spades.

However, when the sequel arrived just a year later, it changed the formula somewhat. Sure, we still had a fantastic story, a challenging difficulty and plenty of horror but it had swapped much of its horror for action, which was fine, in some ways, Dino Crisis 2 is what Resident Evil 3 was to Resident Evil 2.
To this day, both Dino Crisis games are fun to play, especially if you’re a fan of old-school classics of the PlayStation era. But what if we could play a better version of Dino Crisis 2 which still retained what made this game such a cult classic, how awesome would that be?
If that sounds like your cup of tea, then you’re in the right place all thanks to the ‘Dino Crisis 2 Classic Rebirth’ mod and it’s available to download for free on PC, right now. As reported by DSOgaming, this fantastic mod not only makes Dino Crisis 2 look better than ever, but it runs as smoothly as an Iguanodon tongue.
‘Dino Crisis 2 Classic Rebirth’ swaps DirectDraw7 for Direct3D 9 making for a smoother experience but is also compatible with XAudio2 so that it will be a delight for your ears too. Moreover, it also makes this classic game look extra gorgeous with HD visuals and you can choose between 20, 30 or 60 frames per second.

Dino Crisis 2 is playable on PS1, PS2 and some PS3 consoles as well as PC. I couldn't recommend these classics enough if you’re yet to play either of the first two games in this series.
