Dark Souls fans in need of a new challenge have plenty to choose from, but consider Daughters Of Ash for your next playthrough of the first game.
Dark Souls, or Dark Souls Remastered, is one of my favourite games ever made, and my Game Of Every Year. I’ve played it more times than I can count and it never seems to get old, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t want more content for it.

Fortunately PC players can remedy this as there’s a staggering number of expansion mods both out now and in development for all of the Dark Souls games, including one that adds seamless multiplayer to FromSoftware’s masterpieces.

That’s not what we’re talking about today though, instead we’re talking about Dark Souls: Daughters Of Ash, an expansion that comes highly recommended from a Reddit thread by CreVolve.
This older thread is a great source of recommended expansion mods for when you want a little bit more out of your latest Dark Souls playthrough, and Daughters Of Ash pops up quite a bit in the comments.
“As someone who's put many, many hours into Dark Souls 1, I can confidently say that DoA was by far one of the best experiences I've had in a long time” read one of the comments.
“DoA is/was awesome. I was looking for something as magical as my first blind playthrough of DS1” said another, quite high praise.

One more added “Daughters of Ash is easily the best mod for DS1 - the other overhaul mods are closer to "remix" mods while Daughters of Ash massively changes the game in comparison.”
It sounds exciting, so if you love the first Dark Souls game as much as I do it sounds like it’s worth checking out, plus it’s free on NexusMods so there’s no harm in it right?
