It’s difficult to improve on near-perfection, especially when it comes to entries from famed developer FromSoftware and its beloved Dark Souls series.
Over the years, FromSoftware has given us some of the greatest video games of all time with the likes of Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and most recently, the highly anticipated Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.
Check out the Dark Souls 3 trailer below!
In our review of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, we said it’s: “a fitting conclusion to FromSoftware’s biggest, and most-successful title to date. It guides the player by the hand into a brand-new world of mystery and intrigue, treats them to some of the most memorable fights in the series, and rounds things off the only way FromSoftware knows how, leaving you wondering what the hell just happened.

Depending on who you might ask, each fan might give a different answer as to which FromSoftware series is the best but more than likely, Dark Souls will be a series mentioned more than most.
Since its inception in 2011, the Dark Souls series has arguably gone from strength to strength but its last entry was in 2016 with Dark Souls III. So, if you’re eager to play something new in the series or at least from a totally different perspective, then we have you covered.
Thanks to modder Dasaav, you can download a total conversion mod via Nexusmods for Dark Souls III called ‘First Person Souls’ and as the name of the mod suggests, it allows you to play this challenging action RPG in first-person rather than the standard third-person.
“Immerse yourself in the world of Dark Souls III as seen from your own eyes. ‘First Person Souls’ for Dark Souls III offers a unique opportunity to (re)play the game from a new perspective,” reads the description of the free mod.
What’s more, this mod has gone the extra mile by adding head tracking with the intention that it feels like a natural first-person game rather than something with just a camera change. You can even zoom in with aimed weapons, and turn off head tracking for heavy hits and rolls, presumably just in case the perspective makes you feel motion-sick.

The only negative to this mod, unlike Bethesda games, is that this Dark Souls III mod is only compatible with the PC version of the game. Dark Souls III is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
