After the success of Cyberpunk 2077, it is no wonder that fans are eager to try and capture the same feeling the CD Projekt Red title gave them.
Luckily for them, developers are feeling the same as the cyberpunk genre has never been so alive.

That is why this upcoming Metroidvania with cyberpunk aesthetics has captured our attention.

Altered Alma “combines the beloved classic Metroidvania formula with RPG elements, dating sim features, a slick pixel-art style presentation, and a gripping story” and is set to release soon.
Developed by 2Awesome Studio, Altered Alma is set in the cyberpunk cityscape of Neo Barcelona and will task players with beating up the bad guys, finding love or just exploring the bustling metropolis.
With a story written by industry veterans Antony Johnston (Resident Evil: Village, Dead Space) and Emma Beeby (Tails of Iron, F1 23), we can expect to go on one hell of a ride when we jump into the shoes of Jack.
When we are not discovering new routes, getting powerful upgrades and taking down gangs and kingpins, Jack will spend time on her ship, the Esperanza.

Here she will be able to recruit other crew members, upgrade the ship and make it her own but be aware that every decision you make will affect Jack’s abilities and playstyles.
With the ability to reconnect with old friends, make new ones and even fall in love in the corrupt town, Jack will be able to find some despite from battle.
Battle consists of rapid, stylish combat that relies on mobility, skill and powerful abilities and there will be plenty of different types of enemies for Jack to go up against, from giant lizards to an army of cyborgs.
Set in Neo Barcelona, players can expect to see some familiar landscapes as they have never seen them before.

Altered Alma has not yet received a release date for full release.
