In a bizarre turn of events, a Chucky doll has been arrested in Mexico after it and its owner were reportedly terrorising members of the public with a knife.
While some are getting into the Halloween spirit by shopping for pumpkins to carve, others are taking it to the extreme by brandishing weapons alongside their Chucky dolls. That is the case for one Mexican resident who was handcuffed and arrested alongside his killer doll companion.

Chucky, who is most known for his role in the movies with the same name which first debuted in 1988, has become something of a horror icon over the years. Most recognised by his bright orange hair and terrifying face, he is the last thing you would want to see roaming the streets. However, suspect Carlos N was arrested on 11 September for disturbing public order and endangering the public in Monclava, Mexico.

In a Tweet sharing the news, we see Chucky as he is carried away by a police officer before finding himself being held up by his hair in jail. According to Fuerza Informativa Azteca, Carlos was reportedly using the Chucky doll to wield a knife whilst he threatened members of the public for money. He was also allegedly under the influence of illegal substances.
With the doll also getting handcuffed and even propped up for a mugshot, an officer involved in the detainment was accused of not taking their job seriously. So much so that the official Chucky Twitter account reposted the image saying “I was framed”. Since then, many fans of the killer doll took to social media to show their support with one writing “#FreeChucky”.
It is yet unclear as to whether Chucky will be doing any jail time but let us hope this won’t start a trend of murderous dolls on the streets.
