Call of Duty fans are gearing themselves up for Modern Warfare 3 which launches 10 November. Before that, we'll be seeing a lot of updates from the game, including the new Warzone map, which already has fans excited.
This year's CoD Next event is right around the corner. It takes place in LA on 5 October, and will be unveiling all new details for Warzone, Zombies and MW3 multiplayer. We've already been treated to an image from the new Warzone map and fans are saying it's reminding them of Verdansk, the original Warzone map.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is on the way. Take a look at some gameplay below.
The image, promoting CoD Next, shows a port alongside a canal with a sprawling city on the other side of the water. It's very reminiscent of the port in Verdansk, leading some to think this map could be a remake of the classic map. While others seem to think it could feature some of the more popular points of interest alongside new areas, creating an amalgamated map.

Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss the image and speculate further. The consensus, so far, is good. A lot of players wanted a familiar feel. Though many are annoyed that the showing of water means they probably haven't removed the much-maligned water combat.
One user believes this is an updated Verdansk saying it "makes sense to remake Verdansk with water now. It was a good map, the players liked it and it had room to do some evolutions throughout the seasons to change it up." One reply claims it looks like a Middle Eastern city, which could give credence to the idea of merging Verdansk and Al Mazrah.
Warzone fans will be on the edge of their seats until a full showcase drops. We'll find out much more soon as content creators and gaming press premiere the new game in the next few days.
