It’s another day and we appear to be another step closer to the heavily rumoured imminent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 reveal. Activision previously announced that the follow up to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would be released this year but up until this week, further details were hard to come by.
That all changed when Infinity Ward carried out a social media blackout on 23 April. Eagle eyed fans soon spotted a hidden detail though within the studio’s blacked out Twitter banner seemingly confirming the return of Ghost, who previously appeared in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. The blackout is surely teasing a full reveal, and new evidence seems to support that.
In case you missed it, Godzilla and King Kong are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. Take a look at the reveal trailer below.
Call of Duty insider RalphsValve recently took to Twitter to announce that residents and influencers from Southern California had been invited to test out Modern Warfare 2 next week. Whilst the playtests will be tightly kept under wraps, Infinity Ward could proceed with a reveal to overshadow any potential leaks.
RalphsValve previously said that Ghost would return before Infinity Ward seemed to confirm this. The insider also said that Price, Shepard, Soap and Roach would return and that a major announcement was set to take place on 30 April. RalphsValve also claims to have copies of promotional teasers, campaign footage, and concept art which he’s unable to reveal for legal reasons.

It’s thought that Modern Warfare 2 will focus on the Colombian drug cartel. As with all rumours, they remain just that, rumours, but clearly something is brewing up in the Modern Warfare 2 factory.
