This ‘Bloodborne’ PlayStation 5 Remaster Is What Dreams Are Made Of

One YouTuber has reimagined what Bloodborne would like like if it was remastered for the PlayStation 5 and PC.

Bloodborne is amongst the greatest games ever released for the PlayStation 4, or just ever released in general for that matter. The FromSoftware title came out back in 2015 to critical acclaim. Since then, it’s sold millions of copies and deservedly so.

A few years ago, it was rumoured that Bluepoint Games would be working on a much-anticipated remaster of the game. Bluepoint had recently worked on the Shadow of the Colossus remake. Despite our high hopes though, nothing came to fruition. We now finally have an inkling of what a remastered Bloodborne might’ve looked like though.

One fan recreated the GTA: San Andreas trailer in Unreal Engine 5 and the result is so good that you could easily mistake this as the work of Rockstar.

This fan-made remaster of FromSoftware’s legendary title is incredible, and it’s the work of YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits. The simulated comparison imagines what Bloodborne might look like if it was completely remastered and released for PlayStation 5 and PC, and all I can say is that I’m sad that this doesn’t exist.

ElAnalistaDeBits doubled the frame rate from 30 frames per second to 60fps and raised the resolution from 1080p to 4K. The creator then applied post-processed AA and colour correctors before decreasing the chromatic aberration. The end result is a thing of beauty. If you’re hoping to get your hands on this project though, it remains a fan simulation and isn’t actually available for download.

Given that Bloodborne is often considered to be one of the greatest PlayStation games of all time, it’s odd that the game hasn’t yet received a remaster. Fans of ElAnalistaDeBits’ project shared similar thoughts in the comments.

Boss Hunter Shinwin wrote, “It pains me how they’ve neglected this masterpiece,” while Santa Klaus said, “A man can only dream about finally seeing a Bloodborne 60fps patch,” and dream we shall. The tenth anniversary is three years away, maybe Sony is holding out.
