We all love replayability in our favourite video games, right? After all, a feature such as alternative outcomes gives us more reasons to play things out differently.
Video games such as The Quarry, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Oxenfree II: Lost Signals offer different endings depending on the actions and choices that we make during the story campaign.
Check out the Baldur's Gate III trailer below!
“Baldur’s Gate III is a story-rich, party-based RPG set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, where your choices shape a tale of fellowship and betrayal, survival and sacrifice, and the lure of absolute power,” reads the synopsis of the game.

Yet, the upcoming and highly anticipated Baldur’s Gate III is taking that multiple-ending formula to the next level, in a big way with apparently 17,000 different endings, well, kind of. In comparison, The Quarry had a mighty impressive 186 possible endings, but 17,000? That truly is something else. Would it even be possible to see them all?
During an interview conducted by YouTube channel Fextralife with Baldur’s Gate III writer Chrystal Ding, it was revealed that the game does have 17,000 different endings. Though to be more accurate, it actually has 17,000 different variations, rather than each being drastically different from the last. Nonetheless, that’s still an impressive number.
What’s more, Ding also revealed that Baldur’s Gate III has 174 hours of cinematics, as well as 22 subclasses. Additionally, it was also recently confirmed that the RPG will require around 200 hours of game time to complete a full playthrough. This level of depth just goes to show the sheer amount of passion and love that has gone into this game from the developers at Larian Studios.
Baldur’s Gate III will be released for PC on 3 August, then for PlayStation 5 on 6 September 2023.
