Larian Studios is not slowing down when it comes to making Baldur’s Gate 3 the best possible experience for its player-base. As a result, the arrival of Patch 4 is bringing with it a new mode and over 1,000 fixes.
Just a few weeks after Patch 3, Larian is back at it again and this time the patch is so huge, it exceeds Steam’s text limit. Luckily you can find them on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 website and this time the fixes will focus on the ability to customise hireling’s appearances and extra work on the game’s accessibility modes.

“Patch 4 is now live for Baldur’s Gate 3”, the official post reads. “Today’s update clocks in at over 1000 fixes, tweaks and changes. This patch introduces a setting for colour-blind people, and allows for visual customisation of hirelings upon recruitment! No more Extreme Makeover: Faerûn Edition.”

As mentioned, Baldur’s Gate 3 will now feature a more extensive colour-blind mode including the ability to switch between protanopia, deuteranopia, or tritanopia. "This affects the colours used to distinguish factions and relations: map and minimap icons, portrait frames, and character outlines and circles,” says Larian.
As you can probably guess, there are a lot of patch notes this time around but for a bit of fun, let us go through some highlights.
The most important fix is that your canine companion Scratch will now fetch anything. I just hope this doesn’t mean he will be carrying explosives around. In other news, Halsin will no longer randomly turn into a bear when the mood takes him and licking the hunk of spider meat in the Gauntlet of Shar will now make you sick (just as Gale warned).
Patch 4 features hundreds of other patches ranging from the ability to remove grime from yourself and companions as well as fixes to some of the game’s spells. Be sure to check out the full patch notes but be aware that there are some story spoilers hidden throughout.
