Baldur's Gate 3 has finally landed on PlayStation 5, and it is glorious. I honestly can't remember the last time a game drew me in this fully, but all I know is I can't stop thinking about it.
This isn't a massive surprise, obviously, given Baldur's Gate 3 landed on PC to rave reviews. But I was concerned it would be a bit of a mess after moving over the PlayStation 5. I'll have a full review in the next week or so, but what I can say right now is that Baldur's Gate 3 is near-perfect on console.
Take a look at Baldur's Gate 3 in action below!
Part of the reason Baldur's Gate 3 works so well on PlayStation 5 is because developer Larian Studios has ensured the game launched with all the major updates and hotfixes that have already been rolled out for the PC version.

This latest update, however, is being rolled out to both platforms at the same time, and makes a ton of minor and major improvements that make the game run even better.
Hotfix #5 is available now, and most notably focuses on the newly launched PlayStation 5 version. It also works on a number of progression blocks with one of the game's companions, Minthara.
"This hotfix takes care of a bug that blocked access to some of Minthara’s lines of dialogue, including some hot takes from your companions about your decision to date the ruthless Oath of Vengeance Paladin," Larian explained in the patch notes,
"If approval is high enough, your romance with Minthara will progress in Act 3. This unlocks several new dialogues allowing you to explore and deepen the relationship, and discover more details of Minthara's backstory. Alongside many lines of interactive dialogue, many more non-interactive voiced lines are available with Minthara as a romantic partner."

Other fixes include new dialogue lines for the rest of your allies, some graphical and audio tweaks on PS5, and random crashes that were impacting players. You can read the full patch notes here.
