Assassin's Creed Unity for some is considered to be the odd one out in the ever-popular Ubisoft series, but has the game improved over time?

Released in 2014, one thing that is fair to say about Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is that during its launch its reputation was damaged due to some unfortunate bugs. Personally, I never experienced anything game-breaking and it was largely an enjoyable game.

Check out the Assassin’s Creed Unity trailer below!

During its launch, you may have likely seen a couple of images making the rounds on social media that can only be described as glitch-skull faces. In truth, this glitch was only likely experienced by a handful of gamers, but arguably those viral images blew things out of proportion.

That all being said, Assassin’s Creed Unity has been a good game for quite some time and it even looks and plays better via backwards compatibility on Xbox Series X|S. However, a modder has taken matters into their own hands and has turned this game into one of the best entries in years and best of all, it’s free.

Naturally, if you have a beast of a PC, just about every video game should look its best, at least in theory. Still, that doesn't mean that top-tier PCs are safe from bugs and glitches. Yet, if you feel that the PC port of Assassin’s Creed Unity has been abandoned, then the ‘ACUFIXES’ mod is just for you.

Available to download now via Nexusmods, created by NameTaken3125, this mod makes a whole host of quality-of-life improvements for Assassin’s Creed Unity. The improvements include enhanced gameplay when it comes to parkour and combat, even equipping weapons and gear is much easer. It even adds a wider FOV, new weather controls and much more. If you think that your PC can handle it, this mod might be worth checking out.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
