Ubisoft’s plans may well have been revealed early, as an industry leaker shows their hand, confirming that a new Assassin’s Creed game will launch later this year.
According to Tom Henderson, Assassin’s Creed Invictus, should be coming later this year, with a new multiplayer approach to the long-running series.
Ezio as a Smash Bros style fighter sounds fun.
If you’re unaware of this rumoured title from Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Invictus will be an arcade-style title that is a mix of Fall Guys and Super Smash Bros.

It’s hard to imagine what that looks like - it sounds a bit bonkers, frankly - but previous leaks have pointed to the game being round-based, pitting players against each others in Assassin’s Creed challenges.
Information on the game was previously shared in a leak from j0nathan, over on Twitter, who detailed this will be a 16-player game, with a zoomed out camera, and a shield bubble around the assassins, a bit like the shield from Smash Bros.
A team-deathmatch feature is due to be included, with teams duking it out for points across the rounds.
What these rounds will be is hard to say, but we can probably expect lots of sneaking around trying to slyly kill each other, or infiltrate locked-down areas.

It’s a unique idea, and one that could catch on quickly with fans who want to test out the assassin skills they’ve built up over the decades.
With maps pulled from the game’s history, players will be whisked around the world for each arena, and pull characters from across the franchise, like fan-favourite Ezio.
Supposedly, we should be getting an official reveal from Ubisoft later this year, but when that will actually happen, is anyone’s guess.
I’m anyone, so I’m going to guess it will be revealed at the Ubisoft Forward which typically falls during Summer Game Fest, and if I’m right, you all owe me 50p.
