Dark Souls 4 move aside, this new RPG combines Skyrim and Bloodborne

What a combo!

What a combo this headline is - Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Skyrim, all absolute bangers that, if merged together, could make for a hell of a game, right?

I feel like we’re setting you up for something special, but this is all pulled from the vibes we get from the Steam page on this upcoming action game.

Covenant is a new first-person soulslike, coming soon

With no release date, we’re just staring longingly at the Steam listing for Covenant in the hope that it lives up to its premise.

Here’s the brief synopsis from the developer, “Covenant is a first-person dark fantasy combat game in which you play as a messenger sent from above. Wield martial arts, secret magic, and ancient weapons to explore a vast interconnected world.”

First-person martial arts? Combined with ancient weapons? In a dark and Gothic world? Sign us up.

Watching the trailer and browsing the screenshots, it seems like Covenant is pulling on several threads of inspiration.

Huge hulking bosses, set within a dark and brooding world, certainly checks off the Bloodborne box.

Branded as an “FPS soulslike” it’s easy to see where the Dark Souls connections come in, with plenty of mechanics, and harder difficulty, pulled in from that series.

Then the medieval-style setting, mixed with first-person combat, while wielding swords, just screams The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at us from the rooftops.

Of course, we need to get our hands on this one to fully embrace those connections, and see if they mix together in a stylish and brutal action game worthy of these mentions.

However, the details given by developer Legion Studio certainly have us tantalised and intrigued.

Including both co-op play and PvP, it won’t be a lonely adventure, either. Being able to explore these worlds with a mate will just be one more thing to look forward to when the game eventually launches.
