It is an exciting time for Assassin’s Creed fans as Ubisoft has officially confirmed that it will be working on various remakes in the future.
Despite the Assassin’s Creed series originating in 2007, Ubisoft has never released a remake which led some fans to believe it might never happen.
Could Assassin's Creed Black Flag be getting the remake treatment first?
In 2016, it released Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection consisting of remasters of Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. However, remasters are quite different from remakes and with plenty of brand-new entries arriving soon, it would make sense that Ubisoft had a busy schedule.

However, it has supposedly found the time as during a recent interview on the Ubisoft website, CEO Yves Guillemot spoke about what fans can expect from the future of the franchise.
Guillemot confirmed that as well as brand-new titles such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Assassin’s Creed Hexe, fans can expect some remakes of their favourite entries.
“Firstly, players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them,” Guillemot said.
“There are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich.”

Additionally, he also shared Ubisoft’s release schedule which seems pretty hectic.
“There will be plenty of experience variety. The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year.
“There are a lot of good things to come, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which we’ve announced, which is going to be a very different game from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We’re going to surprise people, I think.”
It remains to be seen which entry will be getting the remake treatment but with rumours that an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake was in development last year, we may very well have found our answer.
