We don’t yet have a release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, but we do know that it’s set to come out this year. Both September and November have been thrown around as potential launch months, but we’ll need to await official word from Ubisoft.
It’s not the only Assassin’s Creed game on the way. After a disappointing financial year which saw Ubisoft cancel three unannounced games, they’re returning to more familiar territory by bringing back annual AC releases. Alongside Mirage, Codename Red, Codename Jade, and Codename Hexe are also in development. In the meantime though, fans have taken to discussing their favourite AC releases of years gone by. Players called Assassin’s Creed 3 a ‘masterclass’ in storytelling, while others said that Unity is the best looking entry in the franchise. Today though, fans have gathered to agree that while Odyssey may be the ‘worst’ AC entry, it’s an all-time great RPG.
Take a look at the trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage below.
Over on Reddit, user felixofthe wrote, “Odyssey is one of the best RPGs, but one of the worst AC games. Having played most mainstream RPG franchises, I can decisively say that Odyssey is one of my favourites. The story admittedly isn’t very good, and the cutscenes are for some reason worse looking than the actual gameplay. But the gameplay itself? Oh wow. Stunning, huge and cool. The customisation is so fun and unique. I love every second of it. IMO it’s one of the best RPGs Of all time.”

“However, it’s not really supposed to be an RPG,” they continued. “And that’s a weird statement, but the assassin aspect is essentially non-existent. I haven’t played another AC game that is so aggressively disinterested in the assassin aspect as Odyssey is. It feels like a different franchise.”
Plenty of other fans agreed. Necessary-Evidence-4 said, “Bruh, you’re reading my mind. This is exactly what I think about Odyssey. The game is a really good RPG - one of the best RPGs I’ve played so far,” while RDDAMAN819 added, “Totally. I put in almost 250 hours into the game not because it was a good AC game, but cause it was an amazing open world RPG.” Do you agree?
