An “ambitious” new RPG is coming that takes inspiration from The Witcher 3 and Assassin’s Creed to create a bloody world for players to fight through.
“Crimson Desert tells the story of Pywel, a vast continent of divided regions inhabited by people struggling to survive in its ever-changing lands.”
As you can read for yourselves, this isn’t going to be an easy ride – much like what we experienced as we helped Geralt in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Only this time around, there’s no white-haired monster hunter in sight (yet).

Are you ready for Crimson Desert?
The synopsis continues, “From the vast plains of Akapen to the inhospitably cold lands of Kweiden, or the barren Desert, each region possesses its own unique beauty. However, you might have to scrape away the grime to see it!”
Crimson Desert is an open-world, action-packed RPG hoping to build on the strong foundations of other titles, like Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Assassin’s Creed. However, doing so won’t be an easy feat.

This PC title is off to a fantastic start wowing gamers, but it remains to be seen whether the hype the trailer brings will continue once the game launches.
“This gameplay looks insanely ambitious,” remarked one gamer. Another said, “Nothing but respect to the ambitious team behind this game. I hope it's good and a huge success.”
We hope it is too, as this game “looks like 20 of the best games ever smashed into one insane package”. Although exhilarating to see, it also means there’s a lot of expectation to live up.
Unfortunately, it seems we have to wait until 2025 to find out if that rings true, as Crimson Desert has reportedly been pushed back from its original launch of Q2 2024.

Considering how big a year 2025 will be for games – it's when GTA VI is said to launch – this could be a make or break move for the developers.
Either way though, this RPG “looks absolutely phenomenal”. That’s more than enough to whet our appetites... for now. When it releases, Crimson Desert will be available on PC and consoles.
