We may never get an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag sequel but that doesn’t mean fans are not going to go down with a fight. That is why one WEBTOON series is continuing on Edward’s story in Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple.
Despite Edward Kenway being hailed as one of gaming’s greatest protagonists, Ubisoft are showing no signs of wanting to continue his story which we first saw back in 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. With the game recently celebrating its ten-year anniversary, WEBTOON have seemingly come to the rescue with the announcement of Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple.

The fantasy WEBTOON series created by Tabii and adapted by Shyatan Redice Studio follows Edward Kenway on an all-new adventure.
“Edward Kenway returns to take the leap of faith in an all-new adventure,” reads the official synopsis. “The high-seas hunt is on for a long-lost treasure left by Those Who Came Before. But this time, The Templars aren’t the only ones after the prize. Join history’s most cunning pirate in an epic journey around the Chinese Sea”.
With a new episode every Tuesday and the series currently spanning across 35 parts, Forgotten Realm continues Edward’s story as well as featuring a new cast of exciting characters and of course, the occasional run in with a Templar.

Earlier this year, the WEBTOON received an official animated trailer on Youtube which has made many fans feel the pang of nostalgia due to the classic Black Flag soundtrack in the background. The trailer shows our favourite pirate assassin engage in ship combat, leap on unsuspecting enemies from the jungle canopies and even finish it off with a cheeky grin.
Despite no official game sequel heading our way, at least Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag fans are keeping Edward’s story going.
