Well I'll be damned, Armored Core VI is finally happening. FromSoftware's long-dormant series is finally making its return, as confirmed during The Game Awards this evening.
Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon will release at some point in 2023, although we don't have an exact release date yet. We also don't have much of a steer on what the game will actually look like, although a stunning CG trailer sets the tone nicely. You can take a look at that below.
For those who might not be aware, Armored Core is one of FromSoftware's oldest series, and has developed quite the cult following. While it's never quite achieved the same level of success as Dark Souls, we're guessing the recent success of Elden Ring could well change that.
Advert
Certainly, Armored Core 6 will be one game to keep an eye on in 2023, especially given that FromSoftware just doesn't miss.
It's been over 10 years since the last Armored Core game released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so it'll certainly be interesting to see how the franchise has been influenced (if at all) by the last few FromSoftware releases. Armored Core V was, of course, the 14th entry and 5th main entry in the franchise, so there are a good few AC games to work through if you want to get caught up before Armored Core VI launches next year.
