Andrew Garfield has revealed he's taking a break from acting, effectively dashing fans' hopes that we might get The Amazing Spider-Man 3 any time soon.
The former Peter Parker has been pretty much non-stop, to be fair. Over the last year or so he's taken on critically acclaimed roles in The Eyes Of Tammy Faye and Tick, Tick... Boom!, the latter of which he received an Oscar nomination for.
And through all that, he had to constantly bat away the onslaught of questions about his rumoured return in Spider-Man: No Way Home in an attempt to preserve the surprise for fans. It'd be enough to make anyone want a nap.
Take a look at our chat with the current Spidey, Tom Holland, below!

Speaking to Variety, Garfield said that he's ready to take a break after the release of his just-release true crime series Under The Banner Of Heaven. He explained that he just wants to be "ordinary for a while".
He added: "I'm going to rest for a little bit. I need to recalibrate and reconsider what I want to do next and who I want to be and just be a bit of a person for a while."
Nobody can blame Garfield for wanting to take some time out after such a busy year, although some fans seem a little disappointed that this means The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is getting further out of reach.
To be clear, a third solo Spidey movie with Andrew Garfield has only ever been rumoured and hinted at, and the man taking a break doesn't mean it's never going to happen! But that hasn't stopped everyone from making the same joke: that Garfield took one look at the critically reviled Morbius and decided he didn't want any part of Sony's Spider-Man plans going forward.
Saw Morbius, realised cinema peaked, had to retire. I respect it. pic.twitter.com/yxNrT4rJi9

Jared Leto was so bad in Morbius that Andrew Garfield felt embarrassed and decided to take a break from acting.

Let's hope Andrew Garfield returns to acting in time to make a cameo as Spider-Man in the upcoming El Muerto movie. Because who wouldn't want that, right?
Wait, where are you going?
