343 Industries are busy working away on the Halo: Infinite roadmap, so you wouldn’t think they had a ton of time to dedicate to a brand new Halo game.
Unlike previous instalments in the series, Halo: Infinite launched without a co-op campaign - and still isn’t set to receive one until this summer with split-screen co-op following at a later date. The player base recently fell to an all time low which is no surprise at this stage. Halo: Infinite had all the makings of a great game, but the post-launch updates have been lacking.
In case you missed it, take a look at the trailer for the Halo TV series which is currently airing.
The game’s developers have spoken out about their disappointment when it comes to the lack of post-launch updates to date, so it’s surprising to discover that 343 Industries could in fact also be working on a brand new Halo game completely separate to Halo: Infinite.

The information comes from insider and journalist Jez Corden. During a recent episode of The Xbox Two Podcast, Corden said “I’m pretty sure 343 is working on another Halo project that isn’t Halo: Infinite. I’m fairly sure, although not 100 percent.”
Admittedly, it’s not a lot to go on but Corden has proved to be right on previous occasions. It’ll be interesting to see if the development of a brand new game affects Halo: Infinite’s roadmap which is currently outlined for the rest of the year. Season three is set to launch in November.
Perhaps 343 Industries are concerned that Halo: Infinite will lack interest in 2023 and beyond - seeing the game for the sinking ship it seems to be. A brand new Halo would certainly need to learn from its predecessors mistakes, that’s for sure.
