There isn’t a Star Wars fan out there who hasn’t fantasised about being a Jedi, and 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order delivered the closest video game realisation of that dream. Last year its sequel, Jedi: Survivor, took all its predecessor’s qualities and polished them to a fine sheen, delivering what many believe to be the very best Star Wars game.
Right now you can fire up your lightsaber for cheaper than ever, with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor heavily discounted at Amazon. Xbox Series X and S players can pick up a copy for £14.99 down from £69.99, while the PS5 version is £22.96. On the last generation’s side, the PS4 version is £17.99, while the Xbox One’s is £18.99.

The game continues the adventures of Cal Kestis, a Jedi who survived Anakin Skywalker’s purge in Revenge of the Sith only to come out of hiding years later. Set between episodes three and four in the Star Wars saga, players hop between planets old and new with features and aesthetics from both the original prequel trilogies, as Cal seeks out a refuge from the evil Empire.
Gameplay-wise, it’s an action-adventure game where you’ll engage in lightsaber combat, exploration, puzzle solving, using and abusing Force abilities, and carving through wave after wave of battle droids and Stormtroopers. Respawn Entertainment leaned heavily into the power fantasies of being a Jedi, and it’s a hell of a time.
The PS5 version has a 4.6 out of 5 average rating on Amazon, with players praising the combat, graphics, storytelling and moreish exploration.”The gameplay is so immersive, you really feel like you are in the Star Wars universe,” said a five-star review. “I love the character of Cal and being able to customise his outfits. I read that one criticism of the previous game was no fast travel but that has been addressed in this game. What I’ve explored of the universe so far is vast and there’s so much to discover.”
“The game is absolutely brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed it,” said another happy player. “It is a vast improvement on the first one (which I really enjoyed), and the added fast travel makes it way less frustrating when you need to collect all the chests, databank entries etc.”

Another added: “Yet another gem, a great sequel to the franchise. Fun and immersive game play. New challenges and story to undertake. I was hooked.”
Some have criticised the level design, with some planets getting more polish than others: “There's not nearly enough variety in the places you visit this time,” said one review. “I'd say all the care and attention was spent on just the one - Koboh is a fairly large area, built for the kind of exploration you'd expect if you've played Fallen Order, whereas the other areas seem short and linear by comparison.”
Another didn’t get on well with the combat: “Reasonable graphics but nothing special. Nice open worlds to explore but the combat is clunky and boring. Compared to a game like God of War this just feels rushed.”
If you’re interested in alternatives, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is discounted to £44.99 at Game and it’s one of the year’s most highly-rated games at Metacritic. For those more interested in wizards than Jedi, Hogwarts Legacy is just £24.99 at Currys.
