Few other video games have elicited the kind of reactions we see with Grand Theft Auto, and the past few months have been ripe with speculation and hype for the latest instalment.
The hype is real, and millions of gamers have spent countless hours discussing GTA VI, watching the sole trailer for the game, and wondering what the actual release date will be.
GTA 6 is definitely coming this year, now we just need a second trailer
Between other publishers trying to duck out of the way of this sure-fire bestseller, and more leaks than a pirate ship, we’ve been anticipating the release date for some time.

During Sony’s recent State of Play, we got a slightly better idea of when GTA VI might see the light of day.
With Take-Two’s other big 2025 game, Borderlands 4, narrowing down the release of GTA VI, we know we’re getting so close to launch, we can practically taste it.
At the moment, Rockstar Games is still saying “Fall 2025” and are refusing to narrow it down further.
However, we know that the team has a pretty tight window in mind from a recent interview that Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick gave.

Speaking to Variety, Zelnick said, “We’ve announced a pretty narrow window. So I think our view is that right now, that’s fine. And then when it’s appropriate, of course, Rockstar is going to have more to say.”
We’ve all pretty much narrowed down the launch to October, which comes during Fall, and GTA VI won’t release in September, as Take-Two won’t want to clash with Borderlands 4 which comes out 23 September.
You could also argue that Rockstar Games won’t want to eye November because it will compete with the likes of Call of Duty.
By way of dedication, we can guess that October will be the month, and that’s getting closer with every day that passes.
