Zack Snyder has announced his two upcoming Rebel Moon films will both be receiving extended “Snyder cuts.”
Rebel Moon is the latest project Snyder has been working on, and promises to be a space-epic starring big names like Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, and Anthony Hopkins to name a few. The project was originally supposed to be one film, but was so big Netflix urged Snyder to break the film into two parts.
Recently, Zack Snyder’s wife, Deborah Snyder took part in an interview with Vanity Fair, where she discussed Netflix’s Rebel Moon request and confirmed that the two films will be converted into “Snyder cuts”, so the full story can be told with extended runtime and scenes.

Deborah Snyder said: “Zack said, ‘If you ask me to make this less than two hours, I’m going to lose all the character. You won’t care about these people. It’s a character story about how people can change, and redemption, and what are you willing to fight for…’ So he said, ‘What if I give you two movies?’”
The last time we saw a “Snyder cut”, was for the DC team-up film Justice League, which was originally created by Snyder, but was then passed over to Joss Whedon, who pushed reshoots and cut out the majority of the work done by Zack Snyder. Safe to say the film did poorly, with unfavourable reviews from both critics and DC fans. The backlash was so massive that fans launched a campaign to “release the Snyder Cut” which eventually succeeded, leading to the release of the superior version of the film.
Despite the high praise from fans, DC and Zack Snyder have both confirmed that they won’t be continuing the DC Extended Universe, opting for a complete reboot led by James Gunn.

Seems like Zack Snyder has no plans to stop releasing extended cuts of his movies, which begs the question, when are we going to see him release a five-hour film?
