In a game as huge as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt it stands to reason that there might be loads of secrets that have only recently been discovered by some fans.
Developed by CD Projekt RED, the studio that gave us Cyberpunk 2077, originally released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and was met with high critical acclaim across the board.

“You are Geralt of Rivia, mercenary monster slayer. Before you stand a war-torn, monster-infested continent you can explore at will,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Your current contract? Tracking down Ciri — the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world.”

Now, before I proceed, I am about to go into spoiler territory for an event in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt related to the character Moritz Diefenthel, so please consider this to be your spoiler warning.
Moritz Diefenthel is a mage and once an acquaintance of Triss Merigold, who, let's say, he had a bit of a thing for. There is a point in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, where Moritz is offered to join a mages guild but refuses.
This leads to a point later in the game where Geralt stumbles across Moritz outside the Glory Gate about to be burned at the stake by brutal witch hunters.
However, as brought to our attention by Reddit user jnarvaeztheabnormal, you can save Moritz from being brutally murdered. “Didn't know you could save this loser,” they exclaimed.

“Usually I always just let him get singed but this time around, I decided to see what would happen if I stepped in and saved him. Needless to say, I was not expecting a cutscene like that after the squabble with the Redanians and the Witch Hunters,” they continued.

“I had no idea. Now I want I run around Novigrad slaughtering witch hunters... And maybe the occasional soldier just to see if there are more scripted scenes,” declared piratecoach.
“Played four times through and probably 700 hrs, and I never knew that either,” replied lemmywinks11 with Arrrginine69 adding “Same! 400 hours here. Mind blown.”
It’s fair to say that much of the Reddit thread didn't know about this alternate ending to the fate of Moritz Diefenthel either, which is cool to see.
