Unreal Engine 5 sci-fi horror sounds like a perfect mix of Bloodborne and Resident Evil

Unreal Engine 5 sci-fi horror sounds like a perfect mix of Bloodborne and Resident Evil

We're scared, but intrigued

There’s a new sci-fi horror game on the way from the creators of Lies of P, and it’s shaping up to be something rather special.

A while back, a job advert came out from Lies of P creators Neowiz and Round8, and many of us thought we’d see a sequel to the Soulslike adventure.

Lies of P impressed many fans of the Soulslike genre when it first released.

However, more job roles have appeared, and the companies are looking specifically for level designers and scenario planners for a “survival horror project set in a sci-fi world”.

Doesn’t sound like a sequel about Pinocchio and puppets, right?

The news broke on Korean website EBM, who state the game will be a survival horror, which makes us think we’ll see something akin to Resident Evil.

Of course, it could be something truly otherworldly and take us into the cosmic sphere of something like Bloodborne - especially given Lies of P's Souslike influence.

Whatever we get, it’s going to be something special, as Lies of P managed to blow our socks off.

Many didn’t think a game about Pinocchio fighting back against the oppressors of puppetkind would be anything interesting.

However, the game appeared and fans of the Soulslike genre couldn’t get enough.

It wasn’t just a great premise, the action was as rewarding and deep as everyone wanted.

The publishers have made a comment about the upcoming project, but it’s as vague as you’d expect.

“It is still too early to disclose the progress of the project.”

They did however give us one nugget of information, saying, "It is one of the PC and console games that Round 8 Studio is preparing.”

We’re still waiting on DLC news for Lies of P, which is due out in 2025, and perhaps that will hint to the sequel that so many of us want.

I’m sure they can work on two games at once, right?
