Popular Twitch star NICKMERCS says that hackers in competitive games belong in jail.

There’s no doubt that with the rise of competitive online gaming, cheaters and hackers are going to crawl from beneath the woodwork - especially in online shooters such as CS:GO, Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends and Fortnite.

So it’s fair to say genuine gamers are getting fed up with the increasing amount of cheaters in their favourite multiplayer games. In fact, it might totally put some off from wanting to play multiplayer games ever again.

Cheating can come in various forms such as aimbots, wall hacking, invisibility and even DDoS attacks to name but a few. One such gamer that is fed up with online cheaters is the aforementioned NICKMERCS. As reported by Game Rant, NICKMERCS has called for drastic measures to tackle the rise of online cheaters and has demanded those offenders should serve hard time. Look, I can’t stand cheaters as much as the next person, and it has put me off from playing certain games online. However, I’m not sure hard time is the answer.

“If you cheat & hack in video games, you should 100% be sent to jail,” tweeted the agitated streamer. “I know the majority of y’all are busy touching grass & s**t, that’s lit, super happy for ya. But your boy just spent 20 hours getting hacked in online video games & I’ve had enough.”

I know the majority of y’all are busy touching grass & shit, that’s lit, super happy for ya. But your boy just spent 20 hours getting hacked on in online video games & I’ve had enough.

Fellow Twitch streamer iiTzTimmy also suggested a pretty sound idea that I’ve seen mentioned once or twice. “I personally think we should have a gaming profile that you have to link to every game,” said Timmy. “One per user and you can't make another. If you cheat, then it's on your gaming record and gg.”

The sad reality is that tackling online cheaters could be a war raging until the end of time. Unfortunately, the software that allows 'gamers' to exploit competitive multiplayer is growing more sophisticated by the day.
