Although we have months of waiting to endure before the final season of The Boys, we can rest easy knowing an “explosive” finale is on the cards.

Excitement about the next season of The Boys has been building since the conclusion of the fourth season.

After season four of The Boys we can't wait to see what goes down in season five

Fans are hyped, but they’re also horrified because they know how season five ends.

If you’ve been concerned that the ending will be anything but spectacular, you needn’t worry, as The Boys actor Giancarlo Esposito promises a memorable finale.

During a Deadline interview, Esposito, who plays Stan Edgar in the show, said, “I think it's going to be a whirlwind season. Every show that comes to an end has an explosive ending in its final season, and The Boys is just such a very outrageous show, but also reflective of the world we live in now.”

He continued, “When superheroes have the power to not only save us, but to harm us, that's an interesting show [...] So, I'm convinced that the way to do that is to impact people in a way that gives them love, but also uplifts them, and also affirms their self-determination."

Not only does the epic finale sound explosive, but it also sounds like it’ll be wholesome as well. Given The Boys’ track record, that’s rather unexpected.

Even though it’s sad that such a fantastic series is coming to an end, albeit an ending that promises much drama, that doesn’t mean The Boys won’t make a comeback in some way.

Last month, a prequel series to the show was officially announced, giving fans hope that the intricate and wacky lore they enjoy watching is far from over.

Hopefully, by the time season five airs, fans will have learnt the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour when meeting actors like Firecracker from the show.

It would be a shame for the finale season to be tainted by badly behaved fans.
