The first full-length trailer has dropped for Terrifier 3, the next part of a trilogy soaked in blood and caked in gore.
The Terrifier series isn’t one to shy away from controversy, if anything the creators revel in it, pushing the boundaries of what’s acceptable.

However, the trailer is facing fierce backlash due to what appears to be a scene involving the murder of a child.

This is heavily implied, but of course, until we see the full film it’s hard to know what Art the Clown will actually do.
This hasn’t stopped some on social media from calling out the film. One user on Twitter posted, “If it is what I think it is, you’re disgusting for wanting to watch it.”
They go on to say that the Terrifier films are all about gore and “IF YOURE WATCHING THIS F*CKING MOVIE KNOWING DAMN WELL A CHILD MAY GET TORTURED AND KILLED VIOLENTLY, PLEASE BLOCK ME.”
I’m a huge fan of the previous Terrifier films because they walk a very fine line of safety. Art the Clown is a preposterous evil villain who flip-flops between sadistic and silly.

Yes, the films are gorefests. Supposedly there is a scene in the new film that almost made David Howard Thornton, who plays Art, vomit.
It wouldn’t be a surprise for Terrifier 3 to push boundaries even further than before. However, Terrifier 2 included a kid as a partner in crime for Art the Clown.
The new film takes place at Christmas, rather than Halloween, and we see Art dressed as Santa, so we instantly know this outing will push against the sense of family and innocence that comes with the holiday.
The point of a lot of modern horror is to push audiences too far, to see what will upset you, especially in a world so desensitised to violence.

I can totally understand the outcry and the scene in question will be one I watch through my fingers, if indeed it plays out the way it is supposed.
