Star Wars fans have realised why we’ve only seen three species of Yoda so far.
Yoda is arguably the most popular character in the Star Wars franchise and not even the cuteness overload generated by Din Grogu aka “Baby Yoda” in The Mandalorian could take that crown, though he must have been close.

Yoda made his first appearance in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and the moment fans were introduced to this cheeky but wise little green creature, he hit iconic status in the world of Hollywood movies.

However, despite his popularity, we’ve only ever seen three versions of his species in live-action form, Yoda, Din Grogu and Yaddle, the latter of which first appeared in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999).
But why have we only seen three species of Yoda, a question asked by Redditor Vavent. “Is Yoda’s homeworld and species a secret to people in-universe as well?”
“Yoda’s homeworld and the name of his species has always been a secret, and probably/hopefully always will be. But is it the same for the characters themselves?” they continued.
Thankfully, a fellow member of the thread was keen to provide the all-important answers.

“According to the complete visual dictionary, Yoda kept it an absolute secret. No one outside of his species would have any clue where to even start looking for them,” answered FluffyProphet.
“Or a great explanation as to what happened to Yaddle, she went off to Yodaland looking for younglings,” joked Other-Bridge-8892.
While many would like the origins of Yoda to remain a secret, I’d love for it to be explored in a Star Wars live-action movie or series one day. I’ll be having my fingers crossed.
You can watch the entire Star Wars saga right now on Disney Plus to get your dose of Yoda goodness.
