With Stranger Things season five around the corner, fans are beginning to wonder which major characters could die at the hands of Vecna.

It’s pretty safe to say that not everyone is walking away from the final battle and it wouldn’t be Stranger Things without some sadness and angst.

There have been several teasers for the upcoming final season of Stranger Things

We already know we’re bound to lose someone important if the episode titles are anything to go by and fans over on Reddit are starting to guess at who is on the chopping block.

Most fans are in agreement that neither Eleven or Will are going to die. This is handily explained by Boy_13 who says, “They're not gonna kill Hoppers second daughter. Joyce's entire arc has been keeping her family safe, she's not going to fumble and let Will die.”

However, if they’re not going to die, then who will?

TelephoneCertain5344 said, “I think the most likely heroic characters to die are Murray and Owens.”

Meanwhile fredgiblet breaks my heart with their prediction, “I would also not be surprised to see Steve sacrifice himself.”

Not my darling boy Steve, anyone but him. Take Mike, take Will, just leave Steve alone.

However, many are making a solid case for his character to take the ultimate sacrifice.

As another Redditor puts it, “I’ve long suspected that Steve’s arc could end with him sacrificing himself for the group to establish full redemption from him initially being a jerk.”

One very interesting idea comes from willow_wind who says, “I strongly suspect Joyce will die as well, probably protecting her kids.”

While this would be truly heartbreaking, it would be an oddly fitting ending if someone has to sacrifice themselves to save the world.

Joyce never gives up and has been fighting since the beginning, always believing the kids and following her own path to saving innocence, so perhaps she will fail a saving throw in the final season.
