Star Wars is a family-friendly franchise, but so too does it have its fair share of mature themes.
After all, George Lucas was inspired by the politics and aesthetics of the fascist regime of the Nazi Party when he originally created the Empire.
As such, there are plenty of scenes within the franchise that are unsettling to watch unfold.

The torture of Bix in season one of Andor always comes to mind.
Perhaps one of the most devastating sequences in Star Wars though is the execution of Order 66; and execution may be a poor wording choice.
The executive order saw Clone Troopers commanded to kill every living Jedi.
Of course, many survived but the event decimated the Jedi population, solidifying the Galactic Empire’s hold over the galaxy.

One thing fans have been pondering is that Order 66 insinuates the existence of Order 1 through 65.
Ever wondered what they might’ve been?
Well, we’ve got a pretty good idea about what preceded the infamous Order 66.
ICYMI: We recently sat down with the cast and creatives of Skeleton Crew.
Essentially, these executive orders were contingency orders, by which I mean they were protocols set in place for different eventualities.

How was this achieved? Just like Order 66, all of the protocols were pre-programmed into the chips of the Clone Trooper army.
In the case of Order 66, it became crucial for the Galactic Empire to eliminate the Jedi.
Order 65, on the other hand, concerned the removal of the chancellor, who was, of course, the leader of the Galactic Empire, Palpatine himself.
As it turns out, Order 65 was never actually enacted but if it was, it would’ve seen the chancellor removed by the Clone Troopers.

This only would’ve happened if the chancellor failed his duties, putting the future of the Galactic Empire at risk.
However, as we’re all well aware, Palpatine succeeded in gaining control over the galaxy … for a time anyway.
In total, there were 150 orders in place. Very few Clone Troopers were able to resist the conditioned programming.
