The late James Earl Jones, beloved voice of the legendary film character Darth Vader, will continue to voice the role after his passing.

Star Wars might be in a weird place right now as the latest films and TV series have been trying many different things, with Star Wars The Acolyte possibly being the best example of that.

Now it’s all about Star Wars: Skeleton Crew though, and you can check out our interview with the cast below

Some things are constant though, like the Force, the colour of lightsabers, and whenever Darth Vader is on-screen will immediately be followed by some of the coldest media scenes of all-time.

Unfortunately the beloved voice of Vader James Earl Jones has passed away but future projects starring the character will reportedly not recast him.

This is because as he got older James Earl Jones consented to an AI replicant of his voice for Disney to use when Vader is needed.

Interestingly Jones wasn’t credited for his role of Vader until Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi, as he believed his voice to be more of a special effect than the character itself. David Prowse was the man in the actual suit so he received credit for the first two films.

Speaking before his passing, Jones commented on the AI, saying : “was looking into winding down this particular character,” but he still wanted to "keep Vader alive."

Fans have shared their thoughts on the idea, as AI is a tricky subject nowadays as it’s often blamed for taking work away from actual actors and artists.

“The idea of him allowing his voice to be used as a special effect with AI didn’t surprise me at all” said one fan, referring to what was mentioned earlier about Jones not taking credit for the character at first.

“I really hope he ensures his estate is paid in perpetuity properly for the use of his likeness” added another.

James Earl Jones was incredible as Darth Vader, and personally I’m happy to see his legacy will continue even after his passing.
