Where do you fall on the character of Jar Jar Binks? Love him for his zany actions? Or hate him for being too much of a comedic and ridiculous character?
There has perhaps never been a more divisive character in the Star Wars universe than Jar jar; a character created for comedy relief, to sell toys, provide a scapegoat for the success of Palpatine.
Jar Jar Binks first appeared in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
Kids loved him, adults hated him. Some have come to appreciate him years after his appearance, and fans have often wondered what happened to Binks after Order 66 and the collapse of the republic.

It’s hard to define what actually happened, or what is considered canon.
Some fans believe that Jar Jar died on Alderaan when the planet was destroyed by Darth Vader; others pick up what Chuck Wendig wrote in a novel called Aftermath: Empire’s End, where Jar Jar becomes a clown and entertains kids.
In the book, he’s seen ridiculed by adults for his part in backing Palpatine, though kids love his antics.
It’s seen as a representation of how Jar Jar was received by fans.

Of course, only one person should really have a say on the fate of Jar Jar Binks, and that’s George Lucas himself.
Lucas has commented on the character many times, sometimes referring to him as his favourite character.
It’s rumoured that Lucas made comments on a DVD commentary on the fate of Jar Jar, but this has never been substantiated.
We can only look to an interview he gave in 2005 for MTV, where he said, “He goes back to Naboo and he’s a representative. He probably stays on the council, he’s probably in the senate, because it becomes completely worthless.”

Whichever thread you follow and believe to be canon, Jar Jar probably led a lonely and sad life until his death.
