The third season of Netflix’s smash-hit thriller, Squid Game, will presumably be the shortest one yet if reports are to be believed.
When Squid Game first dropped it took Netflix viewers on a wild ride, with a series of contestants competing for a cash-prize that’d either change their lives or end it.
Season 2, while not as successful as the first season, delivered just as many twists and thrills, and there’s still more to come
However one of the biggest criticisms of the show’s continuation is how short it was, only giving us a measly seven episodes.

It was even more of a kick in the teeth when the quality of those episodes dipped dramatically compared to the first season, as I think we’ve all seen the clip of an action scene that clearly shows a cameraman in the background.
Even more worryingly though is Season 2 should have been longer, but was presumably sliced in half to retain viewers, with the later half of Season 2 now becoming Season 3.
All episodes for the second and third seasons were filmed back to back, and reports say 13 episodes were produced from filming.
That’s quite concerning, as Season 2 gave us seven episodes and was ragged on for being too short, leaving just six episodes left for Season 3.

Now I’m all for shows being self-contained and not padding for airtime but it does make you wonder if the next season will provide a good conclusion with so few episodes to work with.
As you can imagine fans aren’t too pleased, but the only saving grace is the story probably won’t end after the next season, there’ll likely be a fourth.
Fans don’t have long to wait for Squid Game Season 3 either, as it’ll arrive on Netflix later this year on 27 June.
