It’s finally here – the teaser all Scott Pilgrim fans have been waiting for since the anime series was first announced. And it’s glorious.
The OG cast from Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will return as the characters you know and love on 17 November on Netflix. Michael Cera, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, and many more household names will rock their way back into your hearts across a total of eight episodes.
It's time to jump back in with Scott Pilgrim Takes Off!
Wright is part of the team behind the animation, listed as an executive producer, while Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley, and BenDavid Grabinski, complete the creative ensemble as writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners. Finishing off this incredibly sweet array of names is Science SARU, the geniuses behind the animation.

When asked to share details previously, Wright said “It’s hilarious. It’s emotional. It’s visually stunning. The action scenes will blow your mind. And there might be a few surprises along the way.”
Our minds have been blown by the trailer already, which screeched onto screens via the power of Twitter with the iconic words “We are Sex Bob-Omb!”. Since then, the internet has gone off – Scott has a run for his money on who is taking off first, him or the fans.
“Absolute perfection that all the Live Action cast is back, even Evans” posted one fan on the trailer, while another shared their amazed that the original cast was, mostly, still involved, “So impressed they even got Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaza back! This'll totally rule!”
It’s most impressive indeed, but according to Wright, it shouldn’t be all that surprising. “Luckily, the ‘Scott Pilgrim’ cast became a close-knit family and friendships were forged for life,” They continued, “There is still a group email with the entire cast on it, that’s been going since 2010. I was happy to be able to reach out to everyone with the news that we had finally come up with a way to continue the adventure. Seeing (and hearing) everyone come back to their roles has been a true pleasure.”

Now that summer, and maybe even the year, has been saved by the epicness of this first teaser, I think we’d all benefit from watching the film over and over again until November comes around.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off will be on Netflix on 17 November.
